OK then, a good slow roast in the company of his peers,
Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Stalin & Hitler. I know, I know, he
was too stupid to be in the upper echelon of brutal mass
murderers of the twentieth century but for a second rate
dimbulb he managed to oversee quite the slaughter of
innocents in Central America.

History will not judge him kindly, he was a **** poor
excuse for a human being.

History, sadly to say, is written by the winner.

Exactly, and neither the Indians nor the Chinese will find
much of anything good to say about him.

I agree. Neither will Al Qaeda or Momar Quadafi, so there must have been
something wrong with the man.

What was wrong with him was that his visceral beliefs were so
fundamentally flawed. His message, professionally articulated,
was that your government is bad, you don't need it, all America
needs is to trust rich white guys to bust your unions, steal
your pensions, pollute your streams, dirty your air, feed your
children ketchup and it's OK, America. Don't worry, be happy,
because what's good for rich white guys is good for America,
it will all trickle down and you know what ? All we have to do
is work together to get the government off your back and you
too can be a rich white guy !!

And of course, his foreign policy was just a riff on the same
theme. What's good for rich white American guys is good for the
whole world. His was a vision of crony capitalism enforced with
a big stick and he didn't much give a **** about the niceties of
either American or international law when using that stick.

I can't find anything to admire or respect in the public man and
I doubt that history will either. But I suppose I should find
SOMETHING good to say about the private man. They say he never
mistreated a horse.

uh, i realize that this is stating the obvious, but i can't help making
the observation that being a rich white american guy does not necessarily
mean that you are incapable of displaying an almost limitless number of
positive characteristics, including a combination thereof that would enable
that person to be a truly great president. it could happen to me, for
instance. true, everyone would have to give me their money and their vote;
but it's doable.
