A month late, but what the hell.

We headed out to Couer d'Alene, ID last month. My wife was
going to visit her family who live out there, and I was going
to meet up with John Hightower and Warren to do some pike
fishing in the lakes out there. Two days before we left,
a freakish (even for ND) snowstorm dumped a foot of heavy
wet snow on the Minot area, snapping off hundreds of power
line poles. We should have seen that as an omen. Driving
through MT, it rained hard for about half the day, and even
snowed on some of the passes. When we got to ID, it was
pouring rain. The next day I went looking for John and
Warren; didn't find them. Found out through email a few
days later that it rained so much they finally packed up
and went home the day before. We spent nearly a week in
Idaho, and it rained every single day. Didn't even try to
get out fishing. When we drove back to Montana, it rained
and snowed all the way back.

We are thinking of hiring ourselves out to farmers. For
a small fee, we will come and camp on your land. A thousand
dollars per inch of rain sound fair, doesn't it?

This must be why these correspondences are called *trip reports* and not
*fishing reports*.....

I wish. Gotta teach until July 28th, though. We need to work
on a western clave earlier or a little later.

We're brewing a micro-clave for pike fishing at my favorite Montana
location. My boys are interested, Warren is interested, we're thinking
Labor day weekend plus two days on one end or the other. Any interest?

It will probably be July 12 before I can respond to your reply because
I'm leaving this afternoon for Ireland and England. Email would be the
best place, I might find a cyber cafe.
