Default Bass Pro Shops: any opinions?

It sounds like the first issue was with your address, you say that they sent
it to your PO box.. First of all someone MUST sign for a shipment at a PO
second they have NO right to refuse a shipment that it prepaid. Second, if
your shipping address is a physical addy and you say BPShops had the correct
one, then how did they get your PO box?

Sorry, but it sounds to me that we are not getting the whole story. I live
in MD about 10 min from BPshops in Hanover, I have never had any problems, I
feel that the store has a great shipping policy and an excellant return
policy. And if you think that your measley grand a year is going to hurt
them, then think again. I spend over 5 G's annually there and even that is
but a drop in the bucket for them.

I had good experience with them until last year. I ordered 236 dollars
worth of fishing gear from them three weeks before Christmas. I did it
online and printed my confirmation number and also saved the e mail they
sent me. I expected my order in less then a week since previous orders
always arrived within one week. After two weeks my order was still not in
so I did an inquiry with my bank and also them. They had taken the money
from my account and according to their records my order was shipped to my
shipping address. My shipping address is a physical address and my

mailing
address is a PO box. After trying to find out what happened with my order
for over another two weeks, they finally told me that my order was

returned
as refused shipment. I ask them who refused it and they had no signature.
\
After several phone calls and e mails, I was told they credit my credit

card
and if I like the order they would just recharge my card and ship it to

me.
At this point, I told them yes and asked them to verify my shipping

address.
The sent me an e mail with my mailing address. No wonder UPS could not
deliver. I had printed my original order form before submitting and I did
put my shipping address as my physical address but the shipping clerk

tried
to ship it to my mailing address. I then had them correct my shipping
address. I then reconfirmed with a customer service supervisor that I

still
wanted my order and made sure they corrected my shipping address, I told

her
to resend my order. I then received an e mail confirming my request and a
second e mail stating my order would be sent within twenty four hours with
express deliver at no additional charge.

Well another week past and still no order but they charged my credit card.
I then called again and was told that I never placed a second order. I

then
asked for her supervisor. When the supervisor got on the phone and I
explained to her all my issues she confirmed that I had not placed a

second
order. I then explained to her that her company had charged my credit

card
and the problems I had with my first order. I then read her all the

emails
I sent and the reply's I got from her company. She then found my order

but
told me that she could not send it because the customer service rep that
agreed to this does not have the authority to recharge my card and she

would
issue me a refund. She then told me that if I still wanted the

merchandise,
that I would have to resubmit my order either online, by fax, mail or by
calling one of their order clerks.

I then told her to refund my money and I would take my business somewhere
else. I then wrote a complaint to the president of the company but he did
not even have the courtesy to write back. So I no longer do business with
them after being a loyal customer with them for at least the last 5 years.
Annual purchase they lost is around $1000 dollars.

First, let me clarify a few things for you. When you order there is a spot
for mailing address (this is where I put my POB). Second there is a spot
for shipping address (this is where I put my physical address). UPS could
not deliver to a POB so that sent it back. This is not my fault but theirs
for not shipping it to the correct address. They had the correct shipping
address. My reason for doing this is so that someone can sign for the order
since I am not always home. They never had a problem doing this in the
past.

Yes, I have ordered numerous times from them in the past but made me take my
business somewhere else is the fact that I got e-mail confirmation from them
that they would recharge my credit card and then don't send my stuff after
they charged it. Then when I call they act like they never charged my card
and I did not reorder. After sending them all the proof and reading the e
mails to them, they finally found where they charged my credit card a second
time and never sent my order. After fighting them for two days they then
decide they are going to refund me my money and if I want I can then replace
the order for a third time.

But the real thing that ****ed me off was I would have at least expected a
apology letter from the company. I know my measly grand a business a year
won't hurt them but word of mouth is the worst enemy they can have. They
never even replied to the complaint to the BBB. They feel they are so good
that it does not matter if they lose a customer or not. I been in there
stores in several states while on vacation and have spent hundreds dollars
at them. They are building one within 50 miles of me. It is still going
through the permit process. When it is built, I will not go there or order
from them again. I may be a plankton in there ocean but I am part of why
they are in business. I just take my plankton and shop locally or go to
another online vendor.
