For those about to take up pike fishing, or for those unsure
There is a minimum amount of equipment you need when going pike fishing

and
its not the rod and your bait.
You will at the very least need
A good stronge LARGE landing net (fairly obvious what this is for)
An large forceps (for unhooking)
And Wire Traces (so that the fish doesnt bite through and break the line)

Add to that list a suitable unhooking mat.
a set of good quality long nose pliers
and a set of mini bolt cutters.
Line 15lb+ has already been mentioned
