Question About Fluorocarbon Fishing Line & "Leader."

Vanish leader material has an extra additive that makes it a bit more
abrasion resistant. It also has a larger diameter.

Interesting; thanks for the followup Sarge.

I do wonder though if they might help themselves by noting that the
Vanish running line is not intended to be used for leader even though it
is fluorocarbon. I have heard comments from many I fish with and read
similar in various online forums that gives Vanish a bad rep as it was
used for leader. Maybe anglers should be more realistic but I think the
economical price for fluorocarbon makes it attractive to try.

I would also add that when I tried the twenty pound test Vanish running
line it was failing on smaller fish that would not have provided enough
pull so it must be an abrasion related failure. The qualities you
reported for leader would resolve those issues.
