Stole a couple of hours on the Tulpe with Tom Littleton this morning.

I drove by your area on the way to Kutztown on Saturday. Decided to take

78
to 83 home (as opposed to 222 and 30 to 83). Darn, that put me right at

the
new Cabelas. Only had a half an hour (had to get home to let the hound
out), but it was fun. I do now know that it is exactly 149.8 miles from

my
driveway to Cabelas. Hell, for 18 more miles, I could be in Coburn.
Looks like quite a bit of promising water in your area.

How does Cabela's match up to Bass Pro??

Cabelas has a lot better quality stuff over all and a better trained and
motivated staff. The key thing that I saw was that Cabelas seemed to pay
enough for the middle aged guys that actually know what a fly rod is can
work there. Bass Pro is getting to the point that if you can fog a mirror,
you can get a job there.
Cabelas is 10 times the fly shop that Bass Pro is. If I was going hunting,
I think it would be a toss up on where I would shop. Camping in the back
woods.... Cabelas, camping with your family... Bass Pro.
