Default Mini trip reports

I have been to the Valles Caldera National Preserve again,
http://www.vallescaldera.gov , fished the Jemez and the San Juan some, spent
1.5 days last week on the Pecos, and had good fishing everywhere.

The Valles Caldera and one evening on the San Juan were especially awesome.

And tomorrow morning, at the last minute, I've decided to head on out to the
Western Clave, although it's about 1000 miles for me each way. Wish me
luck. I have a very cool wife. My best fishing friends will be there and I
can't stand to miss it.

I better pack.

I should get there sometime Saturday afternoon. Tell Willi to mark his
campsite so I can pitch my tent there. After I get set up I'll fish a
little in Cabin Creek and then the Madison right near the campground.

Will try to get by and get some fresh salsa on my way out of town.

See you Saturday night when you guys return from wherever!

That's it from me, what are the rest of you doing?

I've been waiting for my favorite river (Pedernales) to come down to
reasonable levels after our floods. It's finally back down to a shade
under 200 cfs (normal for this time of year is about 60 cfs) after being
at 4000 two weeks ago.

I'll be out on the river this weekend for the first time since early
June when I discovered a new (to me) section of the river that is as
pretty (and fishy) as any I've seen. I'll also be testing out my new
fishing camera, a Pentax Optio S40 that SWMBO gave me for Dad's Day.
From what I've seen so far, that little sucker (3.5 x 2.3 x 1 in.) is
more than adequate for my uses, and I can't wait to get on the water and
give it a real test.

I'll also be giving the Cortland "Sylk" line I bought recently its
first test on something other than my lawn. I didn't really buy it for
bass fishing, but I'd like to get a feel for it before our trip to
Canuckistan at the end of this month. (So far I like it a lot.)

The usual stuff, you know, fund-raising at Champaign County Republican
Headquarters, door-to-door missionary work, writing romantic sonnets in
iambic pentameter and reading all of the Tim LaHaye "Left Behind" books
I can get my hands on.

just when you have me convinced that you have lost your mind, and have
embarked upon an inexplicable mission to eradicate any friendship you have
ever had, you write something like that. oh, well, just one little apology,
and all will be well.

Let's just stick with the status quo. The moment I apologize I will
once again owe you two bottles of Balvenie to settle up for the last
two years of football misery where the Tar Heels were mediocre but
the Illini worse than pathetic. Besides, I'd rather get a back rub
from a whistling monkey dressed in a sequined satan gown than
apologize on roff.
