Default seafishing licence.

Saw talk of a 1 mile limit being applied, if policed this would be worth the
22 notes. More if they went back to the old 3 mile limits.

Anyone hear this on todays news? £22-00 PA for "conservation of
stocks" for anglers.

Does anyone see this as anything but another ruse to rob the British
public of yet more taxes?

Could they just take car registrations, I wonder?

We'll all have to go fishing by bus. ;-)

Default seafishing licence.

A sea fishing licence could never work, only the honest fisherman would pay.
And what would we get out of it? would thay restock the sea with fish, I
don't think so. Even if they could the trawlers would only decimate them yet
again.

Would it be used to build fishing platforms? has anyone tried to get money
for a jetty? I have and it is not easy.

I too think the licence scheme unworkable BUT if the government think that a
percentage of honest fishermen would pay up, then I think they will go ahead
with it!
After all 10% of 1.1 milliomn anglers is still a few shillings

5 years or so ago, myself and Mike R,
we watched an Inshore Trawler (Shellfish dragging !!)
trawl just off the groynes, 30 feet beyond etc,
along the beach at Hengistbury Head Christchurch,
to be fair he did do a slight detour around us where we were fishing.
regards malcolm
