Default Got Shot At Lately?

Seems the guy was upset about boats running by his place on the bayou
and all his neighbors supported him. What do you think about this?

Unless Shotgun Boy (and his neighbors) own the lake and access to it,
tough. Cowboy up and realize you have a camp on the shoreline. But I'll
admit it's a fine line. I don't mind a boat going by in front of my camp
at a reasonable distance from shore. But close up?...I'd appreciate a
slow speed and no profanity, whether youngsters are around or not.

I lived in Cali for 14 years, A shotgun or any other firearm in your
possession on or in a park or public access land is a felony. unless it is
your property you have no right to carry a fire arm. The few Concealed
permits that are given are just that concealed. If they are exposed for any
reason other than life threatening conditions you can still be arrested.

Something doesn't seem right about the story. Not saying that it didnt
happen, But doesnt seem right.

Hmmmm..... I must not understand then. I thought it was legal to wear a
sidearm in non-incorporated areas in Ca.

In California, you can wear a gun in unincorporated areas. You can have a
shotgun or pistol in the car, but the gun has to be cased and maybe only the
handgun in a locked case (softcase is OK). You can carry a gun in your
boat, otherwise the duck hunting in the Sac Delta would be hard to
accomplish. That said, maybe the guy was POed about all the bass fisherman
traveling 70 mph in a 5 mph no wake zone. Been out fishing the delta when
the fog is so thick you can only see 50' and hear some bassboat guy
traveling 40-50 mph. If he kills himself is sad for his family, but the
problem is the take out some innocent person. Just because you drive a
Bullet, does not mean you have to run WOT at all times.

Actually in those days it was legal to carry an open weapon everywhere. And
I mean everywhere. The law changed in the 60's when the Black Panthers
walked into and demonstrated in the state legislature wearing crossed
bandoliers, and carrying weapons. As to the Zodiac, he was not as scary as
the Zebra Killings. They were scary enough that I carried a 45 in the
truck. Was going to San Francisco State Univ and working nights near
downtown. Servicing computers, so was in and out of the office. 6 of the
killings were within 12 blocks of my office, closest 2 blocks. Funny thing
about that is I chased down a purse snacher about this time while in the
truck. Was asked what I would of done if he pulled a gun. Said I would of
taken care of business.

It's got nothing to do with CA law. The LA in question is Louisianna.
