... This happened during the Bassmasters Classic last year - during practice, I guess since Klein was alone. Actually, this happened on the final day of competition. Marty Strange - the article says there were no witnesses - I figured on the last day there would be camera boats following - Klein was in second place, I think - and I know each fisherman has an observer in the boat with him during competition. In California, you can wear a gun in unincorporated areas. You can have a shotgun or pistol in the car, but the gun has to be cased and maybe only the handgun in a locked case (softcase is OK). You can carry a gun in your boat, otherwise the duck hunting in the Sac Delta would be hard to accomplish. That said, maybe the guy was POed about all the bass fisherman traveling 70 mph in a 5 mph no wake zone. Been out fishing the delta when the fog is so thick you can only see 50' and hear some bassboat guy traveling 40-50 mph. If he kills himself is sad for his family, but the problem is the take out some innocent person. Just because you drive a Bullet, does not mean you have to run WOT at all times. Bill |

Maybe Klein was the a-hole here (no-wake, speeding, etc). It sounds like
the guy was on his own property. If so, I don't know what ordinance he would have violated. bill "RGarri7470" wrote in message ... There was most definately a camera man in GK's boat Ronnie (according to
Bassmaster & BASS Times, as well as ESPN's Classic coverage), in fact on the return trip he filmed the guy as they went by. Warren "RGarri7470" wrote in message ... RGarri7470 wrote in message ... Ohhhh, that makes a bit more sence... As for wearing a sidearm in the un
incorperated area I wouldnt try it in the areas I lived in unless you owned the land you were on. Merced and Mariposa arent too friendly on that. But I can say it is easier to get a firearm in Ca than in IL where I live now. Jeff "RichZ" wrote in message ... It's got nothing to do with CA law. The LA in question is Louisianna.
