Congamond is a little far from worcester. I would have bet money that it was within the 50 miles John specified, but it turns out that it's more like 70! I'm shocked that I'm closer to Congamond here on the shore of LAke Zoar than Worcester is. And you're right about the pressure. But the fishing pressure has never bother me there. Actually, I'll be West of Worcester, in Southbridge/Charlton, so
Congamond is not to far. I have been researching the lakes everyone has mentioned, and think Congamond is my best bet. A-1 and Quabbin Res. looked promising, until I read the limits on motor size. Quabbin doesn't allow anything over 25 horse, (mine's a 40h Mariner.) Also, Quabbin has some fairly large off limits areas that I would not like to accidently enter, not knowing if they are clearly marked. I also read the Congamond By-Laws. It state that no boats can go faster than 10mph on Sat & Sun before 10 AM (never heard of this before). Is this rule in force on the lake? Thanks for all the info, and would gladly entertain other ideas as well. John C. French "RichZ" wrote in message ... John wrote: Congamond is a little far from worcester. Yes That rule is enforced. They are pretty strict about it.
If you are staying by sturbridge then Quaboag and south pond and the Quaboag river that connects them offer great bass fishing. Those are a must hit. Also you might want to look at Buffumville in Charlton. "John C. French" wrote in message . .. Actually, I'll be West of Worcester, in Southbridge/Charlton, so Congamond is not to far. I just checked out Buffumville and it looks pretty good. I can't find any
motor restriction, Can you verify that. I guess I should have stressed in my original post that I will be using my boat with the 40h on it. Thanks for the reply. John C. We will probably be going in the next couple of weeks. We were
considering a trip this weekend, as my wife has family in Southbridge, but she has made other plans. I was real dissapointed. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife's family, but I can't pass up an opportunity to tow the boat along and fish a new lake. I'm also still trying to schedule a day on Lake Champlain before its too late in the season. I guess for this weekend I'll just head back out onto the St. Lawrence River. Thats my usual day trip. Anyone in the area wants to spend a day on the ST Law., drop me a line (so to speak). John C French "RichZ" wrote in message ... RichZ, I would jump at the chance to fish with IMHO one of the
most knowledgable people in this forum. You name the day (Sat, Sun), the time of day (earlier the better), the place (Congamond, Champlain, Or The St. Law.), and the boat (mine or yours), and I'll be there with bells on. Let me know so I can start planning. John C. French "RichZ" wrote in message ... John wrote: I'm also still trying to schedule a day on Lake Champlain before its too late in the season.
