Default Field & Stream--1st issue

Remember the free subscription offer posted here late summer or early
fall? First issue arrived today

Got mine yesterday. It'll be interesting to see how many issues we
actually get

Yeah, I can't remember...I assume it was a one-year deal, but in the
upper right corner of the subscription label on the cover it says AUG05

I signed up for a free two year subscription the first time they offered
it. I think it was February or March. My first copy was April, and the
label was marked NOV03. I thought, "That'll be a quick two years", and
sure enough, I never got a December or January issue. But yesterday I
got a February issue, and the label now says NOV04.

Now I know why the only reason I signed up is 'cos it was free. In the
survival article entitled 'Frozen In The Forest' there are a couple of
glaring errors. One, the hunter is deer hunting during the 2nd week of
December. Unless you're using blackpowder, you better not be deer
hunting in Maine in mid December, and that was never mentioned. There's
also mention of Canada being east of the lost hunter...yeah, by about
150 miles. Shoddy reporting at best....

Got my first issue too. I was surprised as it was awhile ago that I
signed up and had forgotten all about it.
