Sacramento Delta probably has a spawn from late Feb. to August or later.
The waterway covers an area from San Francisco Bay to Sacramento witch is at least 90 miles straight line distance. And the water is anywhere from 2' to 90' deep, with side sloughs that warm earlier than the main channels. IF we could not fish during the spawn times, we would be off the water most of the year. Bass is an all year season here. Except for it being cold and foggy, and have to do some work on the house, I would take the flost tube down to the local ponds. Bill "RGarri7470" wrote in message ... When do you folks feel your pre-spawn generally starts ramping up? Here in middle Georgia - around mid to late Feb. Lake Seminole is 200 miles south of me and some fish spawn there in Jan and Feb in mild years. I have caught bass off the bed here as last as July tho. Wide range of times for the bass spawn. One biologist told me mid - GA spawn is 20 percent in March,60 percent in April and 20 percent in May Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |
