It's real funny, until they win!
snip
Things are way too close right now to laugh about anything.

Illinois is idiot-proof. Kerry takes Illinois' 21 EC votes in
a cake walk. You're in New York ? New York is idiot-proof too,
go ahead and laugh, you'll feel better.

A fine point. Its been a rough day. A laugh will do me good.

FWIW, I was down in FL for the weekend, and unprompted, my Cuban cabbie
started moaning about Bush while the radio spouted pre-convention news. He
swore there was no way in hell that Bush would take 80% of the Cuban vote
this time around.

In addition, the herb goes real well with Star Wars too. Just take a hit
every time someone mentions "The Force".

Yes it is somewhat late but they are still going strong on the

River.

I remember them being pretty much an August phenomenon when I lived in
Amherst. But then, that was quite a while ago......my memory may be
faulty........and it was probably Amsterdam.

(Is my capitalizing the "R" in river too pretentious or precious?)

Works for me.

Seriously, a TR is already in the Outbox waiting for a few final
tweaks.

Yah, sure......we're still waiting to find out what happened during
the smallmouth flotilla.

Wolfgang

What flotilla?

I had a hard time writing a TR which concerned a trip in which I was
the only one to catch fish. ;^)
Wouldn't want to make you and Joel look bad.

I thought he was hilarious. Tear-streaming, belly-busting, knee-slapping

What isn't at all funny is that 50% of the people in this country don't even
"get" the fact that evil can attack from within, and historically probably
has more often than as an external enemy.

Ken, maybe you can help me, you seem to spend a lot of time 'surfing'

I consider myself moderate, and fairly non-partisan. I've voted for more
Democrats than Republicans, but I've voted for both, and a Greenie or two.

When Bush and his gang took office I was displeased about how they got
there, but I can remember telling several friends, "Let's just give the guy
a chance." I meant it and tried to respect the man.

After 9/11 in one of his very first public statements (after he came out of
hiding) Bush said something very close to, "I knew right then we were at
war" At that thought he got a clear, but quickly suppressed, little ****
eating grin on his frickin face. That was the first second that I knew we
were in big trouble in this country. Anyone that has to fight back a grin
at the thought of war is unfit to own a gun, let alone command the world's
most powerful military.

But daddy had proved a war is great for popularity ratings. So, Jr.
gladly became a "war president" and used a pile of dead
bodies as the foundation for greatly increased "popularity" in a country
reeling in fear and uncertainty. It's a strategy that has worked far too
many times in history, as we all know.

.............

ANYway, I have been unsuccessfully trying to find a video clip of that
speech and his grin on the Net. Happen to know where it can be found?

............

You seem to do a lot of self medicating Ken.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

not really, just wondering what aliment you are trying to treat.......

In the US there is no permanent cure for idiots, fools and
morons but a healthy dose of herb and a good belly laugh can
help alleviate the symptoms for a brief while.

Amazing. Have you ever wondered how life might be different if there
were some correspondence between what you say and what you THINK you
are saying?
