"Tim J." wrote in message ... Much as in GC's fine report, I was in need of some refreshening. Stan came by my office on Tuesday and said he was also ready for a day off for some fishing, so we made plans to head off to Pottapaug Pond on Thursday. Hi Tim, Dang . . . you folks out there call that a pond . . . ehh? Look's like a lake to me and you're just trying to trick me. (g) Well, it USED to be a pond before the Quabbin Reservoir was filled. Now it's part of the Quabbin, though slightly separated. Here's a map that puts things into perspective, if you consider the Quabbin itself is 20+ miles long: http://css.sbcma.com/timj/pics/pottapaug.gif I've circled the Pottapaug area. As you can see, it's bigger than most lakes. Another thing I forgot to mention in my mini-TR: Because of the mild summer, the plants in the water were very sparse this year, making for much better fishing conditions. Typically, areas like the photo of the bluegill cove are completely thick with water plants. -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |
