Bill takes a lot of flak for fishing in those ponds and for his alleged
extreme commercialism. I've seen Shaw be much more commercial than Bill,
actually being toady to his guest from Quantum, or whatever.

But I've always liked Bill, he's instructive, entertaining and has an
engaging personality.

I noticed in the BPS catalog, Bill saying that he fishes only with Gamakatsu
hooks. He was with Eagle Claw for years and years. Anyone know if there's
anything to the switch other than an expired contract and bolting for more
bucks?

Why even ask Marty, with all due respect. It's no different from Roland
Martin & Ray Scott jumping out of their Rangers after 20 years & into their
Tritons.

Can't hold it against any of them, they've all got families to feed.

I don't have a problem, Warren, it's just that he was so closely identified
with Eagle Claw for so many years, when it ends it comes as a surprise.
Plus, there's always the possibility that there's something more than meets
the eye.

Let's not always assume it's Bill.

I remember a time long ago when the winter winds were blowing and we
(members of the group) were bored out of our respective minds and I would
post a note with Bill Dance in the subject and maybe nudge Bill about his
commercialism a bit and the thread would go on forever with pros and cons
whiriling around the topic.

It was always fun and a few members or so would laugh understanding the
post was as near to a seasonal land mark as anything. Thing is I always
liked Bill Dance. He's funny (one of the funniest things I've ever seen is
his show outtakes) and he does try to instruct and I understand he's
wonderful with charities, especially those with children, but what does
absolutely and completely drives me nust is . . . his voice inflections. If
he would just stop reading those damn cue cards and talk to me. Instead of
.. . .

If you will
use strike king lures
you wil see
how they
will make you a
better fisherman and
me and bubba
Lots more . . .
money.
g He just drives me nuts with that. g.
