yep, that's my home- nearly al those pics are within a few miles of me. the
mall is just a couple of stop lights down the road- that lot floods every
time we have heavy rains. last time we had rain close to this, the road
leading into my ap't was wiped out- it just caved in. i guess they did a
good job "re-building" it; it survived this episode intact.

someone had the bright idea of building the town of boone on a flood
plain..........

still, and all, op and i decided to brave the high, speedy waters of the
watauga this afternoon for what we knew would be an unproductive fishing
trip. nearly got our *asses kicked* by that water!

sometimes, ya just gotta get out there.

thanks for postin' the pictures-
snake

Hi Jeff,
Heh . . .heh . . .I somehow just knew you folks have easy fishin' out that
way. Heck, looks like you can just fish from the road, from a car, or even
out the window from a house, or even in the parking lot when you are
shopping. (But, the water does look a "bit" murky.)

Here, we gotta tough it out and actually drive someplace . . .uh . .or at
least walk 10 or 20 yards or so to fish. (g)

Good luck to you folks on the east coast. I suspect the next one coming in
isn't going to be any fun either.

That was a heck of a hurricane: we had heavy flooding
from the remnants all the way up in Buffalo, the land of
snow and honey.
