That 33% would be a very conservative number, speaking as a retailer that
bought soft plastics at wholesale and sold them retail. GY is the MFG that sells direct. Welcome to the U.S.A. and the American Dream. All the fishing related product's selling prices could be cut in half and the MFG, Wholesalers, and Retailers could still make a fair profit. That won't happen and why should it when you and I are willing to pay higher prices. It's all about supply and demand, and the demand for fishing products is high. So why not jack the prices through the roof and make a ton while the "Getting It" is good. Because next year, it could all dry up and fade away. -- Craig Baugher |

No different then the gas station off the exit ramp charging 22 cents more
per gallon then the guy a 1/2 mile away. Supply and demand dictate. "Craig" wrote in message ... I passed through Page last summer with intentions of visiting the Yamamoto
operation just for fun. A young woman at the airport told me how she used to work at their plant, she called it a sweat-shop, said she was glad to be out of there. I don't know if it really is, but I decided to skip the visit after meeting her. I still like and use their baits. "Calif Bill" wrote in message k.net... If I had heard that from a current employee I might be more inclined pay attention. I think I would have asked if she quit or was let go. -- Bob La Londe www.YumaBassMan.com All about fishing in Yuma, Arizona Promote Your Fishing Website FOR FREE |

The problem isnt that us young people dont like doing 8 hours of work for 8
hours of pay. Its the fact that those 8 hours of pay cant buy a sandwhich. When you spend half of your pay check every week just paying for lunch at work, and cant make enough money to pay for anything, it gets tough to enjoy working. But thats okay, cuz I finished college, and now have a real job. And make plenty of money. But I know how much it sucks to work for almost minimum wage in this world of big business price gouging. if you are working for minimum wage, you are buying way too expensive sandwiches. I always carried my lunch from home when I worked for minimum wage - and it was $1.60 back then. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |
