My home river has finally come down and over the last few weeks, for
the first time since prerunoff, the fish have been avidly coming up for
dries. I've been fishing pocket water on my home river with good
success and had a great day on a feeder creek that CharlieW. told me
about. About a week and a half ago, the Trico hatch started on the
lower river and the fall has been OUTSTANDING for the last week.

Good to hear you're having some good fishing, but to what do you contribute
this bizarre, ultra late-season insect activity? Global warming? The
approach of Armegeddon and the End Time? Perhaps the earth is shifting on
its axis? Maybe its some chaotic effect, a la the
butterfly-in-China-syndrome, due to the collapse of any sort of competitive
football in Illinois? I suppose only the Grand Poobah of the Universe knows
for sure, but I'm glad someone is enjoying it. Its obvious that some are
not.

Still bitter about the only 'Clave in roff history noted for its
lack of camaraderie and good fishing ? Believe me when I tell you
this, I REALLY enjoy saying "I told you so."

Don't tell *me* so. I had all the great camaraderie and good fishing at the
HF clave as I have had at any other clave, bar none. I experienced better
dry fly fishing at the HF clave than I have at several other claves that I
have attended. I fished with folks every day and caught fish every day and
spent every evening in the company of the other attendees and had a great
time doing so. I don't remember a bitter word or action at the clave. The
HF Clave was just like all the other claves I've attended in regards to
fishing success and socialization. Of course, I was there every day and
every night. BTW, I didn't see you there. Maybe you think that ought to make
me bitter, but somehow it doesn't. If it makes you feel better to think I'm
bitter, go ahead. I'm sure that we all want you to feel better.

Oskie Oh****,
Danl

I arrived early, took one look at the river and the snowflakes
on my windshield and decided to not even bother buying an Idaho
license. I fished the Bechler the day before the 'Clave started
because I already had a license to fish in the Park.

Your revisionist version of events does not coincide with the
contemporaneous accounts posted here on roff, but I'm glad you
had a good time. As for having good dry fly fishing on the
Henry's Fork that week, that's as big a lie as the whopper you
and Willi keep repeating about me.

I did, briefly. He skedadled with his tail between his legs when I told
him he'd better keep the **** away from me.
