but I'd like to fish with you at a clave. I know that
sentiment is going to bring whatever comments others feel necessary, but it's
true. Regardless if "real" or "virtual" personas differ, I think you need to get
yer ass to a clave as well to put some reality back in this place.

I was at the Driftless 'Clave in July, the heartless *******s made
me cast a KPOS 3wt and they both smoked like fiends.

I'll even let you flick a cigarette butt in my general direction.

Don't go there. I bummed a fag off Cyli and it tasted SOOOOOOOOOOOOO
good I damn near bummed another.

not to worry, all that happens is that Fortenberry stays away. No one seems

to
notice, either.

Hmmm. OK then, I guess I won't be needing a cabin space next May.
(Never argue with a Clavemeister ;-).

Fortenberry would be the only reason I would go to another clave. I've never
really fished with him. I have hopes of turning him on to the dark side of fly
fishing......nymphing. And, besides, I bet he's a pretty good fishing partner,
assholelishness aside.

One more thing, Ken. You never saw me cook in my skivvies. That has been a
myth all these many years. At "Forty's Fall Ball" I did go into the kitchen
that first morning in my bvds, but after the many guffaws and laughter
(including me), I put my pants on and a bathrobe. That is what I cooked in.
IJ will verify that because he helped me that morning.

As far as poinsoning people, that is another myth. The gentleman of all gentle
men Jeffie *insisted* that I pour all of the bacon grease into his frying pan.
He then proceeded to deep fry an egg or two. It was *his* fault he got the
****s.

Not one to blow my own horn (yuck, yuck, yuck ), I have cooked at *every*
clave I have been too and have never poisoned anyone. I have received nothing
but praise for my culinary prowess. But, I have to admit that I did cook a few
breakfasts at the Carolina cabin in my skivvies....... but, they were covered
by my longjohns and a pair of comic boxer shorts.

it's always been my fault dave... just this year, without your

my bowels since that day long ago when you...uh, i mean i... fostered
the introduction to santeetlah.

I have. Believe me, it's nothing special.

I don´t know anything at all about hatches in the Rockies, more´s the

pity,
but I do know that this group deteriorates more with every passing insult
and bitterness that is published here. Any "outsider", and most "insiders"
reading this stuff would have to be crazy to want to have any part of it.

The only thing that really puzzles me, is, what is the point of it all? Is
there any point at all?

Once upon a time, I laboured under the quite obviously massive
misapprehension that anglers were gentlemen. This group has certainly
taught me the error of my ways.

The insults, and the flames, and all the other similar stuff here is bad
enough, but what eventually simply wears one out, even just reading the
stuff, is that it is mostly silly and boring, and has virtually nothing to
do with fishing, or with gentlemen either.

Most unfortunate, and extremely depressing to boot.

MC

i agree. it's more difficult, day by day. the bitterness is becoming
overwhelming. the disputes, long ago, seemed to be an invitation to
relatively respectful intellectual contests. but since 40 and wolfgang have
sworn to bilious confrontations until the end of time, a sort of gloom has
settled over the place, for me.

this place becomes more boring every day, for me.

I'll take the smiley at face value(gad, what a bad pun) and assume you are
joking. I was commenting on past history. My personal record has been to
welcome one and all to Penns(you will remember that I offered to put the late
Mr. Gherke up ,
at my expense). You are and will be no exception. How you and others conduct
themselves is up to you and them(I am a host, not babysitter). The fishing is
often good, the bug life is second to none, and the company has always been
great. You can do what you wish(but if you can let me know before I pencil
things in with the campground next weekend I would appreciate it).
