I have and use Garcia baitcasters and Mitchell 300 reels for Bass.
I bought a newer Mitchell reel, smaller then my 300. It quickly fell apart. I am not looking for anything new and fancy.. just something that is durable and works. I am not sure if all the newer Garcia and Penn reels are junk.. Any thoughts on an older (not collectible) reel? I was looking at some of the Garcia Cardinal and Penn Reels. Not sure what model is small and durable. thanks |

I guess the Penn 4300SS looks like it should be ok.
Spooled with 4lb test line. Anyone know if extra spools can be ordered? fishhead wrote: I have and use Garcia baitcasters and Mitchell 300 reels for Bass. I have had pretty good luck with the Pflueger Trio spinning reels. The size
20 should be great for gills and crappie, with a good enough drag to play the occasional bass that wanders through you favorite slab spot. -- Free Lures Drawing Weekly Active Forums www.YumaBassMan.com |

Who makes them now?
I thought they were purchased by another company Bob La Londe wrote: I have had pretty good luck with the Pflueger Trio spinning reels. Still says Pflueger on the box. Other than that I can't tell you.
