Default Advice on new in-dash Finder/GPS?

Hi, guys (and gals)
I just bought a neat new Triton bassboat. I told the salesman it only took
20 years to make a snap decisition.
It still has to be rigged, and I'd appreciate advice on what to get for a a
finder/gps. I'd like color, but that's not crucial. I can justify going up
to about $800 for it.
For now a Lowrance LCX-18C is on the short list. Extra features like surface
temp would be nice. By regular bassin' standards I think it'll be quite
gently used.
catch u later,
John
