I've not done it myself. hell, knight, no surprise there. my bet is you *never* touch your current fly line, hoping desperately that the damn thing will self-destruct, at which time you can go buy a new one... not that there's anything wrong with that! yfitons wayno |

Harrison, you're the last person I would expect to comment on what I touch counselor. All of my fly lines get somewhat cleaned at least once a year, I don't usually soak them but I take them off the reel and run them through a damp washcloth, dry them, and then reel them back on with one of the cortland cleaning patches they used to give you with the line (do they still do that?) or the SA( or is Umqua?) line dressing. While I am not afraid to spend the money when I have it to purchase "nicer" stuff, in return I expect a certain durability, and with good fly lines approaching the cost of a low end fly rods, I expect the damn things to last several years. Wayne I might be a gear whore, but not of the resources to go into a fly shop and do a Rodney Dangerfield. |

As long as it self destructs in the bed of your truck and not out on the stream leaving bits of brightly (or muted) colored line all over the water to add to the debris along the bank. -- ** FREE Fishing Lures ** Weekly drawing ** Public Fishing and Boating Forums ** www.YumaBassMan.com |
