I live in San Diego. Here they stock channel cat fish in the lakes. I
never was lucky enough to catch a cat fish. I will appreciate if someone
would give me some hints how can I catch a cat fish.
Thanks.

I never caught any Channel cats on any stinky baits.
I had the best luck on Live bait. worms and crawdads were best for me. baby
mice and minnows worked good too

Caught 2 channel cats on cut fish bait (herring but any oily fish will do)
one 12 lbs and one 10 lbs. I agree channels dont seem to be so crazy about
the stinkiness of baits.

They like live food !and May Flys ! If the may flys are having a hatch after
dark in the
summer get the fly rod out ,you will have a ball! Fish a shinner or a live
night craller
under a bobber..rainy day, cloudy day the best.. I caught 100+ a day below
theYork Haven Power Plant in Pa,
Check my site for more hints and Maps.. at http://sea4two.net
let me know what you see... some pages may not be right but ,
I can't tell on my end... tell me what's not working....they may be ok but
i'm not sure,.
thanks in advance, Allen
P.S. I live in Port Orange Fl. Now and I catch HUGE sail cats ! 7/8 lbs plus
or more using live finger mullet..they bite the same as Pa Channel Cats !

On hot summer days Grasshoppers work well, fish them on the bottom or under
a float.
