ANY vibrations, including those created by the reproduction of music, that
are allowed to be transmitted from your boat into the water will carry a long way, and directly to the fish. If that vibration simulates the sounds of prey, great. If not, your chances (and those of anyone around you) of catching fish are seriously diminished. Therefore, if you cannot tolerate the beautiful sounds of peace, quiet, & casual conversation, show the smarts to keep the volume as low as possible, and make sure you back off on the bass as far as possible. Otherwise, use headphones or the Off switch. -- Bob Rickard (AKA Dr. Spinnerbait) www.secretweaponlures.com --------------------------=x O'))) "MPerlst216" wrote in message ... I love to boat and fish, and I love music. Is there a reason I never hear music comming from other fishing boats. |

I love music but when on the water all I want to hear are the sounds of
nature. Birds, fish, wind, stuff like that. I consider noise from other boats, any noise, bothersome. But that's just me. "MPerlst216" wrote in message ... I love to boat and fish, and I love music. Is there a reason I never hear music comming from other fishing boats. |

Many years ago I was fishing a club tourney and drew one of the best natural
fishermen I've ever met, Mark S. (At the time due to injury i was a non boater) Now Mark was a good fisherman, but on more than one occasion in other venues he lacked good old fashion common sense. So when he decided to play some hard rock, over my strenous objections (My argument was the same as Bob Rickert's... Vibration = not good for fishing). Mark looked at me, laughed, smirked really and proceeded to go down the bank we were fishing and hauled in one lunker after another with a jig and pig. He took the winning weight on that bank. His response at the end of the bank was.... fish . . . don't give a rat's butt about music. . . unless it's Polka stuff. He then spit a large wad of tobacco out of his mouth and turned up the music even louder and off we went to another spot where he once again proceeded to haul in bass after bass. I dont think music matters that much. And I don't think noise in the boat matters that much unless you're right up on the fish. Here in south Chicago burbs there's tons of recreation traffic and even more importantly, barge and commercial ocean going vessels on much of the waters. Lots of banging around going on all the time. I think the fish get real used to it unless it's right up on em. . . . just MHO. -- God Bless America Josh The Bad Bear |

I agree.. I hate radios etc. on water. Just was commenting that it didn't
seem to effect fish that day. -- God Bless America Josh The Bad Bear |
