Default Pier fishing truth

If you ever fish from a pier you might recognize this scene:

Had to blow it up, but it was worth it. Great!

Too true.

I remember fishing for Lakers from a breakwater on Lake Superior and
while I wasn't fly fishing this rings pretty true.

People kept coming up and bugging us about what we are fishing for and
all that. One knob came up and really was having a fit because I wasn't
trying to catch the Herring that were swimming along the BW. I kept
telling him that I was fishing for Lake Trout and finally he said to his
wife "it seems to me that he would want to catch any fish just to catch
one."
