Yep, but it won't recognize my password for any length of time, even after it has

I can receive posts, but I can't reply to posts via BS. Go figure?

Ever tried anything other than OE? I've never used OE, but I don't have any
problems using Agent or Thunderbird.

My reader isn't the problem.

Something to check out if you are using a method(s) other than a BS DSL or
constant DU to get to the server: the BS news server is configured not only to
ask for username and password, but to check that the attempted login is from an
IP address in the range it "likes," supposedly the BS range. If your connection
is dropping and reconnecting or changing IP addys for whatever reason, that
could cause your problem.

What I don't like about this little supposed "security" "feature" is that one
cannot log into the server from non-BS IPs, even with a username and password,
such as when traveling, but it really does nothing for security. And on a
purely "YMMV" note, Lookout Distress might not be the best choice, news- and
mail client wise.

Hope this helps,
R

Well I downloaded firefox and thunderbird from Mozilla, and still had the
same problem? BS's news server loses my password, somehow, and I have to
have it reset. I have tired of havin' my PS reset, so I will dump BS.

OK, good luck. I hope they don't single me out when they don't have you to
pick on any more. g

We both use the same news server and I don't have any problems, so it must be
you. g

Whatever you switch to, you might want to have your phone line checked too,
there may be some data loss from all those wiretaps...
