Mark Something to check out if you are using a method(s) other than a BS DSL or constant DU to get to the server: the BS news server is configured not only to ask for username and password, but to check that the attempted login is from an IP address in the range it "likes," supposedly the BS range. If your connection is dropping and reconnecting or changing IP addys for whatever reason, that could cause your problem. What I don't like about this little supposed "security" "feature" is that one cannot log into the server from non-BS IPs, even with a username and password, such as when traveling, but it really does nothing for security. And on a purely "YMMV" note, Lookout Distress might not be the best choice, news- and mail client wise. Hope this helps, R |
