Default decent deal for a beginner?

Hi Frank, no, I am not getting out of flyfishing, just buying more
expensive stuff. The cortland and fenwick would make a decent back dry
fly rod, but I am fishing for steelhead and salmon and these are not
suitable. I still have a golden sable fiberglass rod which is REAL
NICE with a hardy. The sth #2 will work for trout but WILL NOT work
for bigger fish like steelhead and salmon. The large arbor airstream
has never been used but I would assume it would work fine for salmon
and steelhead. I have caught several salmon on the okuma sierra 7/8,
and its drag can be set VERY STRONG, but for salmon and steelhead one
would probably want a smoother reel that costs a couple of hundred
dollars.

The ADG reel is what I use several times a week (with a tfo ticr) for
steelhead, but I have TWO of them, PLUS I have a orvis battenkill
barstock 5 and am getting a ross big game 6
