Asheville is 2 hours east of Fontana Lake, Santeetlah Lake and Snowbird.
It has an airport, but I've heard connections through there can be
expensive. I wouldn't fly into and drive out of Atlanta if I had a
choice...much like the release of a magnificent bowel movement after
days of constipation, making one's way out of Atlanta can be a strained
and unpleasant processs... g

I have very vivid memories of Hotlanta traffic, so I think I'll
pass. :-} I'll look into Asheville, as it looks like the drive would
be a pleasant one. Knoxville is also an option, but I never enjoyed
driving through there either. (Is Malfunction Junction still as bad as
ever?)

Thanks for your help.

It will be great to see you again Charlie. the invitations to tie have not come
out yet, but most of the time I am scheduled to tie in the mornings. This bunch
has a hell of a lot of fun. A couple of years ago my Cajun buds did a Cajun
feed on Thursday night and twice as many folks showed up for that as did for
the conclave.

Marc Pinsel has been coming up with some interesting things and events to make
the whole thing a lot more fun. Last year he scheduled Tom Travis to do a
progran which was scheduled to start at 11:00AM in the Bar. You will have the
opportunity to meet and become friends with a bunch of folks from Florida...
could lead to some pretty good fishing. I have a friend from Gainsville who
also enjoys fishing out of a kayak that I think you would enjopy fishing with.

I know wha you meen about the rain. I hear this is the best year in decades for
squirrel hunting in East Texas what with the huge acorn crop. We have had more
rain around here that ever in my lifetime.

there. The FFF Southeastern Council Conclave is scheduled for Callaway
Gardens

the first weekend of June. I plan to try to catch some of their huge
bluegill
while there.

You don't have to lodge at Callaway to fish the ponds. But what's this crap
about the big bluegill, have you seen the size of the freeking largemouths
that come out of there?

And while you're out that way, you may want to check out the red eye bass
fishery not too far from there.

I prefer fishing for bluegills rather than "trash fish"(g).

I do enjoy catching those red eyed bass.
