Default Upper Thames Barbel

I'm thinking of seeing whether I can locate any barbel in the Upper
Thames this Summer. My local club card gives fishing rights downstream
of Cricklade and at Kempsford, and on the river Ray, a tributary.

Has anybody had any success in this area?
