Man, I really should be able to come up with something outrageously funny,
but I'm just drawing blanks.

Neato Stan! Thanks a whole bunch. This little program thingy may
just save me a good deal of heart ache.

what is "top posting"

Hi Tony. Top posting means adding your reply text at the top of the
message. It's a matter of style, and various mail and news programs
have used different styles over time. However, it's a Usenet custom
at add replies at the bottom - that way people can read the context
first. Some people get really anal about it and will harass you.
Since you're using Outlook Express, I can recommend an add-on that
will make bottom posting much easier (because OE always positions the
cursor at the top of the message). It's called OE-Quotefix, it's
free, and can be downloaded at
http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software.../downloads.php

And don't forget _my_ bete noir. People who never edit. No, not
you, yours was okay. I just want to rant about it.

I hate seeing two pages of text followed by a one line response to
_one_ blasted line of the original message. It used to be called the
AOL Syndrome. Or, "Me, too." added in agreement at the bottom of a
long post.

thanks for the heads-up Stan and for the link

how did you know i was using outlook?

Stan can see you through your monitor. Eerie, eh? ;-)

There's a line in the message header that states what program created the
post.
In yours, the line reads:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180
