Default Leaving Flyrod in car?

Willi notes:

I've gone into restaurants wearing waders and seen other people do the
same, but I've never seen anyone bring in a flyrod.

you would love a certain restaurant in Altmar, NY, on the Salmon River. They
have a rod rack INSIDE the bar/restaurant.
Waders are considered near mandatory during steelhead/salmon seasons.

Question about leaving flyrod in a car?
I guess it could have been helped, but we decided not to take our 2pc
flyrods in a restaurant, but instead left them in our cars. They were in a
aluminum tubes, but the car was hot in the mid afternoon, no shade.
Do you bring your flyrods in with you?

I've never taken a rod out of the vehicle other than at "base," but like
Willi, I've worn wet boots, etc. (no vests - one looks like a novice AND
a dork doing such) into places. If you're really worried, just make
sure the tube is as shaded as possible, take the end-cap off, and leave
a window slightly open. Of course, it begs the question, "why did you
bother to case the rods before going to the restaurant?"

is a kind of cheap-ass plastic rod tube which once contained my T and T 5

I never had that problem with any of my rods stored in my super-secret rod
cases made out of schedule 40 pvc when left in my black pickup that lives in
the Texas sun. They can also double as a blunt instrument when needed.
