I thought that I had heard of just about everything until a very southern
black lady moved in here at work. She could make the BEST fried chicken...
but she also made things that I'll pass on everytime.

Oxtail soup? Ever heard of that one? Yup... actually has ox tail sliced up
into it.
Fried Chicken Feet? You think you can picture this one in your head... I'm
betting you can't! It aint pretty.

I've had oxtail soup and it's actually very good. I cannot say that I've
tried Fried Chicken Feet, but I remember my dad and grandmother talking
about it.

I guess all I can say is don't knock it till you've tried it! You might be
pleasantly surprised. I know guys that refuse to eat catfish and think
you're one sick puppy if you do.

I have had chicken foot soup at Chinese New Year celebrations. The soup was
good but I didn't chow down on the chicken foot floating around in it !

When you clean them you take them out of the hairy pouch, then slice
and fry!

OUCH, whether you have two leags or four. That's just wrong- Hide

I grew up on a farm - used to help dad casterate the pigs when they
were young if we were going to eat them. Makes them taste much
better, grow fatter and not fight.

Don't really remember eating the "mountain oysters" we cut out but we
may have. We pretty much ate everything about the pig but the squeal.

Ox Tail is just a cut of beef. Better than liver and some of the other
organs. Some strange cuts make for great eating. Osso Buco. Veal or beef
shanks cut into rounds. Delicious!

One of the best meals I ever had was Pork Osso Buco. I've also eaten
lots of wild game including boar in Hungary and elk in Austria. Why
stick to Beef, Pork and Chicken all the time, right?

Now, back to fishing. When I was a kid, we used to go on family
fishing trips to a local pond down in North Carolina. We would
vacation at my grandparent's house in the summer and cane pole fish
for crappie and bream almost every day. One of my grandfather's
favorite things to do was have Granny scramble up crappie and bream
roe in his scrambled eggs for breakfast. I wouldn't touch it, but
Papa loved it!

I too, can remember doing that, Ronnie. However, after spending several
hours cutting the littl buggers out, I don't think I could have eaten them.
Yuk.......and I usually try something before determining a verdict. Not
this time........

Now, that I've done and it is good!! Especially if you mix it all up in
some grits with red-eye gravy.
