It's not a floatant. But, IMO, it is the best dessicant out there and it
can restore a badly matted and slimed fly to "new" condition. When you
get done applying it, there should be VERY little if any left. If there
is still some left, the fly isn't completely dry and you need to use
some more.

You might want to tell that to the manufacturer of Frog Butt so that
they can change their labels:

"Frog's Fanny
DOUBLE-DUTY FLY TREATMENT
That's right, Frog's Fanny is not only the best dry fly floatant you
will ever use, mow you can really 'Match the Hatch' by coating your
nymphs with Frog's Fanny. blah blah blah"

I didn't say I believed it. What I said was:

"Frog's Fanny is neat but it wears off too damn quickly and *****isn't
much of a real floatant.*****" (emphasis added)

The manufacturer and fly shops consider it a floatant. It is
presented, advertised, referred to and marketed as a floatant.
Basically we are saying the same thing but you are just defining things
a bit differently based upon your personal opinion. You think of it as
more of a desiccant, which is exactly how I use it too. I read the
label and consider it a poor floatant that has other unique properties
that make it very useful.

Bud is the King of Beers???

Some people think so and I can see where they are coming from.
Regardless of one's position on Bud being the King of Beers, Frog's
Fanny is clearly labeled as a floatant. g
