Any suggestions for lodging would be appreciated if

I will be camping same as last year, but there is a list of lodging
alternatives on Warren's web page. The Campfire Lodge Resort is right

across
the road from the campground. I don't know what the rooms are like but

they
serve a good breakfast - albeit with not much of a wine selection or nude
beach.

While I realize that a wine selection can be problematic, the nude beach
part should be easily enough rectified?

Can you post your pattern for golden stones?

Danl, I just try to tie them like Willi does, very simple with biot tails
and some lead underneath a very buggy body. Kind of yellowish with a
slightly darker wingcase.
Mine are nothing special. Willi's look really cool : -)

So how about posting a pic? Either you or Willi will do. I'm interested
because a) I need to tie some for the Madison and b) I'm going to try some
on the Kern River this weekend.

Hello Folks,

Just thought I would stop in and get a list of who is coming to the
conclave this year. I have received emails from a few people and
updated the clave webpage with the info that I have. If you have any
questions or need anything, email is the best way to get in touch with
me (addy is in my sig line but you have to unmunge it). Once I get
email addies for everyone coming, I will set up the "clave broadcasting
system" to send out any updates, info, etc.

I may make a long weekend, but not the entire trip. I'll be throwing a
small tent at the campsite if I can make it. I'll have to find another way
to get that shotgun to you.

Danl,
You must have recovered from your "California Flu" or "100 Day Cold".
Great! See you at the Clave.

Guy,

Actually, it was the 100 Day Cold California Flu and, yes, I'm finally over
it. Damned thing really had me down for a while. And, yes, I will certainly
see you at the Clave. Did I read that you were bringing Gal with you?

I checked the TroutFlies.com web page and I think that the logic of
"getting what you pay for" is sound. My panic question is, I roughly
counted almost 100 fly patterns on the list for the "Western Clave
2005". Let's see, 100 patterns times 3 sizes times 6 each = 1800
flies. I guess I won't be able to work much between now and then.
Seriously, is there a more reasonable (pared down) list? Thanks in
advance.

though I would like seeing you purchase 1800 bugs it's not really
necessary :-) The list is a guide, granted a rather large one. Pick
ones that you like...people are coming from all over the place and
some don't like Goddard Caddis but do like Elk Hair style Caddis, some
prefer Stimulators over Bullet Heads and visa versa. It's a "wine
list" of patterns, you decide what varietals you like :-)
Keep in mind that you will need some of each of the patterns that will
represent; Caddis, Stoneflies, Mays, Attractors and some
terrestrials. Two to three patterns of each in maybe three sizes
would be about 60 to 100 bugs. You will spend more, in orders of
magnitude, on gas :-)
If you or anyone else has a question or six, drop me a note.

Yes, The wife...
I will tri-pod her in the river in the morning and check on her at dusk. Oh
man, hope she doesn't read this...I could die a slow death. Where are you
staying? Slide Inn I hope.
