He would say anything bad about John Wayne but the interviewer ask him why he didn't make more war movies like John Wayne. He said there was only one thing a man could do, if he didn't he would have to "shave in the dark the rest of his life". Autry was a pilot and flew the hump, passing up the big bucks for a few years. |
