Still considering building a home around Bevard, and with older knees would
plan on using the Davidson River as a easy place to spend a few hours
casting.
One small problem---much of the fishing on the Davidson is done with small
dry flies and midges..Shops sell lots of 22 and 24 size flies.
As these are all hatchery fish (raised two miles upstream ) why don't the
fish prefer bigger flies.? Feel sure they were raised on pellets.
Don't these fish know old indians have weak eyes.

Can anyone explain why this is a "midge stream".
JOE

It's not a midge stream but small imitations, like they will most
everywhere, will often work when the bigger bugs are not around. The river
has decent caddis hatches, an annual green drake hatch, and various other
mayflies throughout the year.

And it is not only a hatchery supported stream.

The New Zealand immigration folks won't let me be a citizen at my age
unless i bring a million dollars to invest.
Did you get a big settlement lately you would like to share ? Or are you
planning to act like that other lawyer from N.C. who decided he would
rather be a politician?
Why don't you buy the cabin on Snowbird?

Are you going to save one day during the second clave week to take a couple
of old men out in your boat?
