I caught my best Brown.
The lady caught her best rainbow.
Connected with and old friend.
Caught a fish that was not hooked, That little brown hit so hard and
irregular he was tangled in the line!

HELP NEEDED

I blew my transmission, if fixed in time I will be in the anti-clave area on
Friday morning. I will be 'van camping' and leaving the trailer at home.

I will have a cooler of stuff that I am willing to share, coffee and
pot....he he....a grill and camp stove.

somebody send me a mapquest link of where to be....No mapquest does not have
links to hell and 'you' can't send me links to meet other people.

Please note....brown cadis size sixteen.....am up for hazel.

all my love.......john

excellent! ...when will you be arriving - as in which friday? except
for rachel and me, most folks aren't arriving til monday october 11th as
i recall, and the bulk of people will be around during the weekend of
the following friday, the 15th.

have you located robbinsville? if so, we can manage to find you. some
folks are in motels, some are camping, but i think robbinsville is the
best point to establish for arrivals and directions.

Jeff,

Are you going to be in the same cabin as two years ago?

I'm leaving here on Saturday 10/9 or Sunday 10/11. Have some family stuff to
take care of, but can go to Hazel any time that you all want to go, then
work out the rest of it as it makes sense for everybody.

bob - rachel and i will be arriving saturday afternoon (9th). we're
staying in the same place over by snowbird. keep in touch...if no one is
around on sunday, and you are, we should make a test run over to hazel.
i need to check out the cable cove boat ramp, and figure out a way to
anchor the boat over at hazel, so it doesn't grind on the rocks, and i'm
sure your assistance will be most beneficial.

i'm still unsure who's where when...but so goes the anticlave. looks
like pleasant days and cool/cold nights, with leaves hitting their peak
next week. no storms in the atlantic or caribbean. fishing reports are
good. prospects of a bit of musical entertainment. asadi and wolfie
(tempered by becky) for a welcome basting of their intrigueingly bizarre
humor. if the cooks and drunks share their ore, hell, we might just have
an enjoyable time.

batteries are charged, wheels greased... looking forward to it.

jeff (rachel and i have cell phones. perhaps folks should exchange
numbers by e-mail?)

Sounds like a plan! I sent you an e-mail with cell phone number. Should be a
great time.

well, it looks as if i will be able to make the last few days of the
clave, maybe thursday after next through the weekend. i'm back from greene
county, tenn, where we have finished a crack cocaine conspiracy trial in
federal court for the eastern district of tennessee in three days, which i
had thought would last ten working days. the asst. u.s. atty gave us a
pretrial witness list numbering over 60. he put seven snitches on the
stand, and rested. our defendants were three black guys from north
carolina. there were no african americans in the jury venire. the ausa
said that he had been there for five years, and had only one black juror.
in unicoi county, tenn., adjacent to our venue, the last census polled the
following number of a.a inhabitants: 0.

one socially redeeming factor: the judge was terrific. we won freedom
for one of the three guys when he ruled that the evidence was insufficient
to get to the jury as to him.

obroff: the drive across the spine of time, from boone to the valley
behind the blue ridge, in tennessee, includes random views of some pretty
little creeks, and glimpses of the watauga river in a deep gorge.

finally, jeffie, fyo: anchoring at the mouth of hazel is no problem for
the cosmetic value of your matchless craft. soft mud banks, and low wakes.

IJ asks--what is date of Thursday after next? Will you stay at old Sunset
motel?
Sure glad you will be in Chapel Hill this weekend when the tar and
feathering of the football coach takes place. Will it be down on main
street or over by Delt Delta Delta house?
If Jeff will give us a ride in his fancy truck we will be able to hear
Howard Stern--just what one needs in the morning on the way to a fishing
trip!!
Leaving in a few minutes to drive over to Black Mountain [beside Ashville
N.C.] for a couple of days and visit my daughter and family who now live
there---guess i will stop by Walt's shop and leave a few dollars .
Anyone attending anti clave next two weeks better bring warm clothes---fall
has arrived.
Unplug.

Jeff I thank you very much. I should have followed the threads closer and
paid more attention, but, you know me.

Anyhow, this changes everything, and I am glad you responded. I haven't
arranged for time off work yet and shall begin to do so.

Offhand, I'll be leaving sometime on Monday the 11th and staying through the
17th, leaving on the 18th. The 17th I'll probably take a short jaunt down to
Jasper, Georgia to see an old friend.

I'll e-mail Wolfgang and see what is shaking with him....He'll have to pass
within one half mile of my house to get to North Carolina.
