Hi folks,
I hope everyone is fine and enjoying the fall bite. Some time ago I ran into this thing in the local tackle shop. The owner didn't have a clue what it was, said it came in a batch of spinnerbaits someone made for him and basically said I can keep it if I think I have an idea what to do with it. I thanked and promised to let him know if I catch a fish on it. It looks like a spinnerbait, but instead of the blade there is a second hook tied onto the upper arm, point down. I thought I could put a grub or u-tale worm on this upper hook to create a vibration similar to the one a spinnerblade would. I tried this from the nearest dock in the river the same day and had a hit, but got too excited and missed the fish. I think I pulled the lure out of its mouth before it managed to grab it well. Unfortunately there was no time to continue the experiments ... So, does anyone know anything about that thing? Thanks, Nikolay |

My guess is that you somehow got hold of one of Charlie Catfish Summers'
"Blue Cat Special" spinnerbait prototypes. The top hook is for threading on rotten chicken entrails mixed in with ground-up, putrified Vienna Sausage pulp. His pursuit of Mr. Whiskers has really gotten intense! Personally, I think the whole really idea stinks. ;-) Bob Rickard (AKA Dr. Spinnerbait) www.secretweaponlures.com --------------------------=x O'))) "Nikolay" wrote in message ff.rqh... LOL! I could have bet the first response would come from the SW team, but
this was beyond the expectations! Thanks for the laughs, guys! Anyway, you can't call this a "spinner", there's nothing there to spin! :-)) On Tue, 5 Oct 2004, Bob Rickard wrote: My guess is that you somehow got hold of one of Charlie Catfish Summers' "Blue Cat Special" spinnerbait prototypes. I remember that bait Nikolay. Supposedly the hook on the upper arm would
snag your bass (in the face I guess) while you were fighting it. Easy to see why the appeal never caught on. Warren -- http://www.warrenwolk.com/ http://www.tri-statebassmasters.com 2004 NJ B.A.S.S. Thanks for the info Warren.
Man, this is plain vicious! Now I kinda feel bad ... Yes, I see why it never caught on! I think I may give it back - This is not exactly my kind of fishing. I think I have one of those things now that I think about it. I think Joe
gave me a bunch of samples that was sent to him, and there was one in there. Gonna have to look again... "Nikolay" wrote in message ff.rqh...
