Let's see, according to our intelligence reports, 49% of the U.S.
population hates their current regime. We have calculated that a well timed invasion of the U.S. will result in the immediate overthrow of this hated regime by their opponents. Our invading troops will be met by thousands of Americans throwing flowers at their feet. Since the American military is lead by such a reviled commander-in-chief, we expect the American military to collapse at the first whiff of gunpowder. Actually, that might be a pretty good scenario for the conservatives. See, the first thing that these regimes do when they get their legs under them is shoot all the traitors. That wipes out that 49% who supported the invasion. Pop, Bob's your uncle, instant moral majority. -- Frank Reid Euthanize to reply |

I remember people saying that sort of thing widely when the Shah was there. I travelled there widely at the time. Have you been there at all? Two things were obvious. America thought of it as a useful American colony in the Middle East. and the iranians didn't. It was no surprise when the lid blew off the place. This 'supporting a popular movement of the populace' garbage is what colonialist invaders always say. It's what you guys said when you went into Vietnam, for God's sake. Unsurpassed hilarity, that one. I heard the other day that Jerry was bringin' them back as the More Moral Majority! Seriously! Mark Tom G |
