Well, I spent most of yesterday massaging my CV to make it fit
(sometimes rather vaguely, perhaps) a finely varied mess of vacancy announcements, then sending them off. So I'm now something like caught up on the job hunting front, and it's sunny and bright outside, not too damn cold.... I'm off to the Crooked River to show some dries to the spunky little rainbows there.... While I'm gone, try this: not the three greatEST movies, perhaps, but all great and all personal favorites: - Nashville - Amarcord - Local Hero What do they have in common? A set of three #16 bhpt nymphs to the person who posts the first correct answer. JR |

They're all considered auteur masterpieces, and none of them won the Academy Award for best director? I know that's pretty thin, but it's the best I could do. -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

Ah, finally, another Fellini nomination. You seem tutto peso with things Italian. Two more lightweight, lighthearted films I'd recommend are 'Ieri, Oggi, Domani' with Loren and Mastroianni, and the more recent 'Bread and Tulips'. Dave Who hasn't seen Local Hero. You need to run, don't walk, to your local video rental place.... |

I always liked Fellini in that Village Voice kind of way, and NJ upbringing made Sopranno's seem like a documentary, but then I saw "My Italian Journey" and it put Rosselini, De Sica et al in perspective. And the journey into irregular verbs, obscure verbal modes, articles, prepositions etc continues. I figure Ill be able to curse effectively and ornately in the nursing home in Italian at the rate Im going. Here's a fun movie recommendation: "Crane World," Argentine. A wanna-be crane operator, ex rock and roller, negotiates middle age with the help of a few of his friends. (Italian accented Spanish, w/ English subtitles). Seriously. Great TR and pix by the way.
