in search of zissou trout in graham county

i've seen them. they are there. even in the wintery wash of sleet's
slush and slobber, they lurk. leopard trout. they appear only when your
fingers go feeble, your nose oozes its snotty defense to the chilled
air, and the mind masks every muscle's memory.

yup, gonna hunt'em with dan'l on wednesday. ... tomorrow, well, i think
i'll enjoy a preparatory lunch in morganton with wally. ...so it goes.

well, i'll be damned. i am just before leavin' for grunvull right now. me
and james are gonna make sure everything that flies in martin county dies,
for a couple days. perhaps we will toss one or two down the hatch this
evening.
