Just a short note to help you visualize our accommodations at the Pier 2 Motel.
The rooms all have at least 2 king size beds, cable, phone and a refrigerator. Coffee and sweet rolls are provided in the lobby every morning free. There is a small bar located on the water at the end of a pier that protrudes into the rim canal. You can dock your boat at the pier if you so desire. The lock into the lake is about a 1/4 mile from pier and at this time of the year it will take you 15 to 20 minutes to lock through, depending upon the boat traffic. The Lakeshore Restaurant is located directly across the street and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you so desire. I believe they open at 5am or so. Our launch location, Okee-tanie Park, is on the same road about 10 minutes west of the motel, only 1 red light and light traffic. There are 3 or 4 tackle shops on the way to the ramp and the local Walmart carries an excellent supply of equipment for bass fishing. You will be about 10 minutes from downtown Okeechobee and a variety of other restaurants are available. The Pier 2 has a tower on top that you may climb to see over the dike and view the lake. Grills are available on the grounds. As we get closer to the tournament dates, I will give you more details on meeting times and planned dinner gatherings. -- The most precious thing we have is life, yet it has absolutely no trade-in value.
