Hard water

I know some of you can't relate, but also that some of you can, so here
ya go. Nephew Paul was on the ice Monday and had 2 nice catches...a 4.5#
LM and a gorgeous 4# brown trout that took 20" to bring up. Shiners on
both...

A kid up here in SD caught and released an 8lb largemouth out of a local
stock dam fishing for panfish. I haven't caught anything bigger than a 3lber
there. Sigh, I am NOT ice fishing. ;-)

I assume your nephew is of the younger generation g. But I did a lot
of ice fishing in my younger days, and really enjoyed it. Lately though,
I have given up fishing on the really cold, snowy, windy days...and
almost ready to give golf up on those days too! grin

well, I wouldn't call him a youngster, but he ain't middle aged, either.
LoL We had a little break in the cold wx this week..the day he was out
was around freezing (for the Southerners in the group, that sounds a lot
worse than it is). I try to get out 3 or 4 times a winter when
conditions are comparable to that. But -20=B0 with a 20 mph wind? No,
thanks, not w/o a shack or enough ice to drive onto and sit in the truck
next to the holes.

I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads
without having their motives called into question.
