For use on southern and central California lakes, primarily for bass.
http://www.crestliner.com/boat_info/...TID=100&BID=42 Crestliner Fish Hawk 1650 (16') 50 HP Johnson 4 stroke, EFI Pacific trailer travel cover 2004 leftover, brand new, so I got a "deal". $13995 Options I'm adding: Minn-kota PowerDrive 55 w/universal transducer and wireless copilot Humminbirg Matrix 37 http://www.humminbird.com/products.asp?ID=379 I haven't heard much about Evinrude/Johnson motors for a long time, but I understand they were sold by OMC to Bombadier, who then formed a new "Outdoor Products" group for boats, motors, etc. The dealer tells me the Johnson is made by Suzuki, and Evinrude motors are made by Yahama. Any & all opinions appreciated. Thx. |

Its a beaughtiful boat. I'ld have opted for the 90HP outboard, but I
understand financial constraints. Looks like it shoudl handle some chop witht he V design. -- ** Public Fishing and Boating Forums ** www.YumaBassMan.com "Bob" wrote in message ... I wouldn't have minded a bit more power, but it was a package deal on a leftover, including the motor. Probably the 50 has enough giddyup for me. Hoping it handles the chop, it's why I chose a V hull instead of a true bass boat. Changing my mind on the fishfinder because I've learned the universal transducer won't handle the multiple beams that the Humminbird 37 has. Thx for the comments. |

Can't wait to pick it up, will be ready next week. Close second choice for me was the Tracker 16' Pro Guide, but it's a kind of boring grey. |

Nice looking boat Bob.....congrats.. has alot of standard things with
it...the only thing I would suggest is a 24v t/m if it does't have one, nice to have the extra power in the wind...what do you consider a central CA lake, around Fresno/Bakersfield or Modesto/Stockton? Have fun with it and be careful..... sket |

Besides, if it's blowing that bad, they close the lakes and kick everybody off the water! You mean the State of Kalifornia is telling people to stay off the water when the wind picks up? There's one more reason to not live there! I did go with the universal transducer on the Minn-kota, to use with the bow f/f, and added the wireless copilot, so the front is clean and uncluttered with a bunch of cables, etc. I consider Bakersfield almost local (100 mi), but I don't know of any lakes in that area. In Fresno, I want to try Pine Flat. Modesto & Stockton are too far for a day trip for me, but I gotta try the delta, from everything I've heard about it, it;s a bass factory. McClure and New Melones are also on my hit list, and I'm planning on taking lots of long weekends ![]() (never liked working Fridays anyway) Bob Remove the x for e-mail reply www.outdoorfrontiers.com www.SecretWeaponLures.com A proud charter member of "PETAF", People for Eating Tasty Animals and Fish!!! |

Bob....I consider the delta my home water, just a short cast from
several ramps on the eastern and southern sides. You ever come up this way let me know, we can fish togeather or I can give you info for some areas to fish. I don't fish McClure much, has alot of spots all the same size, 1 1/2-2 pounds and they can be a pain in the butt. New Melones or Don Pedro are my two favorites. I've had 100 fish days from Melones and my biggest bass from Pedro. But nothing still beats the delta, what a fish factory. Nothing chases us off the water around here, you must fish some smaller lakes and the rangers give you the boot. Good luck bassin' and enjoy that new boat...... sket |

Only a couple. San Luis Reservoir for one. They have warning lights. But since the wind can go from calm to 50-60 in 30 minutes, they are trying to prevent Darwinism. There are major wind farms just up hwy 152 from the lake. |
