Travel Rod

Who makes a good travel rod? Spinning or Casting, does not matter,
just need an OK (does not have to be Loomis quality) travel rod. It
will ride around in the back of my car for those "quick stops" on the
way home from work when I get out of the office early. I do not have
the space in the car (Ford Escort) to safely carry a 2 pc rod, along
with the work related stuff, so I was thinking a travel rod may fit
the bill. Again this is not for "all the time" use, just when I get
out of the office a couple of hours early and want to hit the local
pond on the way home.

Cabela's..

The Cabela spinning rod sells for about $50 and is worth every penny. If you
want more info. I'll run into the basement and find my son's to get the
details for you. I think it is a 5 pc.that ends up at around 6 1/2 feet. My
son back-packed all over Wyoming last year with it and it survived in it's
own travel pack.

All of the telescoping rods we have tried in the past are junk compared to
the Cabela rod.

to 3/4 oz. lure rating ). Comes in a nice, tough travel tube. Made several

For a Cheap decent stop on the way home rod, check wally world for the
Shakespeare excursion kit, about 25-35 bucks, 3 foot box holds everything
and comes with a decent reel and 3 piece 7 foot pole, also has compartments

Thanks for the tip. Sounds like something I could keep in my office
and use over the noon hour for a quicky trip to the river that 4
blocks from the building I work in.

I check my local wal-Mart, and they do not carry it. Of course, there
are about 3 more in the area, maybe one of them will have it.
