I've just bought a Hardy LRH leghtweight reel on Ebay, in perfect condition,
the only fly in the ointment is that it is set upo for right hand wind. Does anyone know how to change the checks and pawls to enable rhw? Hardy's used to come with a small paper insert in the reel to show you how to change but not int his reel case. Thanks for any help. Eddie |

Eddie Eddie first you need to swap the line guard over then "turn both tongues anticlockwise" - i.e. the little pawls that act as check. (holding the reel and looking down the right hand pawl now be pointy end pointing toward the centre of the reel. the other one sits with its long side against the spring You can tell if its right by winding the reel with the check screwed on hard - you will notice that reeling in is easier than pulling off line. Hope this a) makes sense b) is helpful regards Roger -- remove the dried fruit to reply |
