Default Sunday Morning Fishing

Well seems like it was going to be one of those days. My nephew doesn't
show up, it rained all night. I get up at 5 a.m, load the boat on top of the
car by myself and head over to the lake. Unload the boat and all the gear
get the boat in the water get the trolling motor on and low and behold, no
battery. Leave everything at the lake, rush the car back to the house, grab
the battery and hope no one showed up at the lake for the free goodies I
left there. Sure enought no one around so with all my gear intact I head
out on the lake, beautiful morning overcast and cloudy and a slight wind
from the west.

I have 4 hours to fish before having to be back home, so I decide to fish
fast. I tie on a speedworm and hook into my first fish about 3 casts later.
Pickerel. yuck. Soon after I feel another good hit, set the hook only to
have the fish run a split second and get off. I repeated the process 3 more
times. WTF? The only thing different is the new line I'm using. I'm starting
to doubt the line a bit. Maybe too much stretch, then I realize, I'm not
fishing braid and there is no exposed hook. Hmmm, maybe try setting the hook
harder. Well it wasn't the line after all. It was my hook set, as the next
dozen fish were all hooked solidly, including 6 keeper size bass and a solid
3+. Great morning out. The bass are starting to move up shallow and some
were busting with eggs. Fishing should be good for a bit now. Hope to be
back out later on today for some more action. Posted a few pictures to
