Default Bozeman area May 20th

Hi, anyone fishing the Upper or Lower Madison lately? I'm headed to
the Bozeman area next weekend and was planning on floating the Madison.

Also planning to fish the Bighorn on the way up from Denver. Anyone
got any news on it?

Thanks in advance,
Josh Blair

Fished the Madison near Ennis first of May, and the side channels fished
well, while the main wasn't so good. Fished the Bighorn May 5 and it was
very crowded, (11 boats visible at one point), but seemed to fish OK. Was
surprised at the number of boats that would float a run, row back to the
top, then float it again. There were several boats making the loop together
as they fished one particular run. Seemed like everyone got along just fine,
and knew the local etiquette. Caught enough fish for a pleasant day, but
even dispersed, it was bit crowded for my liking. On the other hand, I
didn't see anyone crowding another angler, so that at least mitigated the
crowds.

Thanks for the info Jim. I know what you mean about the crowds on the
Bighorn. That can be a bit of a pain. I guess people are hearing that
fishing has picked up.
